Since a young age, Hiroshi Nakamura has lived with nature's bounty in Fukuoka; likewise, he has been influenced by his father, a landscaper. He always felt familiarity with nature and cultivated an ability to discern nature’s multiple aspects.
At the age of 21, he set his face toward becoming a photographer and moved to the U.S. upon finishing university. He had been exposed to spectacular American nature and got bowled over by tremendous sights. Coincidentally, he realized again the fragile beauty of Japanese nature and sensed deeply that the universe has an inherent beauty and that phases of beauty are infinite in variety.
At first, he set his sights on becoming a photojournalist, turning his attention to photography’s unfeigned expressiveness mirroring facts faithfully. He gradually desired that output from his heart should make people feel warm inside, and eventually he aspired to produce photography as Fine Art.
In 2007, he visited NY for a short-term stay, but he decided to make NY his base because he was fascinated by the boundless energy which NY gives off.
He depicts existing problems in the world and people’s deep psyche. Meanwhile, he portrays the grandeur of nature and the human condition, the beauty of color, and even the delicacy of decay.
He now enhances his knowledge of various expressions of light in advertising photography. At the same time, he pursues “the moment” through his eyes. He’s planning to focus on portraits which capture our way of life. He’ll be dedicated to seeking the beauty of faces that engrave our history.
